Stuart Arnold Newman

Stuart Arnold Newman, 65, of Menan, died May 6, 2008, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born June 14, 1942 in Idaho Falls, a son of Arnold Andersen Newman and Paula Burton Newman. He was raised in Milo, attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. He received his Associate Degree in Auto Mechanics from Ricks College. On July 6, 1962, he married Myrna Loy Westover in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. He worked as a Plant Supervisor for Idahoan Foods for forty-two years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the High Priest Group Leadership, as Executive Secretary and in many other callings. Stuart enjoyed fishing, all outdoor activities, camping in Kilgore, and most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Myrna of Menan, daughters, Vonda Nicole Newman (Brad) Bybee, of Rexburg and Brandy Newman Lopez, Sons, Stuart Kevin (Cynthia) Newman of Salt Lake City, UT, Max Todd (Heidi) Newman, of Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA, Arnold Spencer (Christine) Newman, of Idaho Falls, Dustin Edwin (Michelle) Newman, of Idaho Falls, Collin Trent Newman of Menan, and Trent (Becky) Smith of Boise, sisters, Nola (Doug) Oliver of Ririe and Launa (Les) Grigg of Ammon, brother, Al (Edie) Newman of Pingree, twenty-eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jordan Bybee and a great-grandson Garrett William Newman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Menan Stake Center, with Bishop Garth Gunderson, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
