Susan Chansen Oster, 70, of Montpelier, Idaho, formerly of Miami, FL and Idaho Falls, ID, passed away on August 11, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The daughter and oldest of 4 children, she was a beauty queen from day one and through the years growing up in South Florida. An ardent tennis player, she graduated from North Miami Sr High School in 1969. Sue later married her high school sweetheart and love of her life in 1972 taking joy in raising their daughter and son.
After the kids were grown up and out of the house, Sue embarked on a new career as a long-haul driver grounding herself in Idaho Falls. Accompanied by her dog riding shotgun, she spent nearly 20 years crisscrossing the northern United States enjoying the scenic beauty and solace of the small towns and open countryside. Sue always enjoyed the hunt in finding quality antiques to fill her home.
Preceded in death by her sister Mary Chansen Richards. Sue is survived by her parents Alfred Chansen Sr and Rita Chansen (and her flying monkeys too!), brothers Al and Charles Chansen, daughter Peggy Oster, son Vernon “Bear” Oster Jr., granddaughter “Maddie” Oster, ex-husband Vernon Oster, and her best friend Adrianne Ashby.
A celebration of life will be held in Sue’s honor.
