Sylvia "June" Guidinger

Sylvia “June” Guidinger, age 91, of Lava Hot Springs, formerly of Rigby, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Aspen Grove Assisted Living Center in Lava Hot Springs. She was born June 6, 1916, in Downey, a daughter of Franklin Barnes and Anna Fenetti Jensen Barnes. She attended Woodland and Downey Schools. March 24, 1934 she married Norris Lewis Guidinger in Pocatello. She worked in various potato warehouses in the Lorenzo area. Sylvia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, handwork, crafts, oil painting, gardening, flowers, canning, and attending the Senior Center in Lava Hot Springs. She is survived by four daughters; Marilyn (Bert) Sommer, of Hibbard, Arlene (Bill) Drake of Lewisville, Faye (Delbert) Bills of Pueblo, CO, Rae Lee (Mont) Faulkner of Bancroft, ID, a brother-in-law, Dean Day of Lava Hot Spring, a son-in-law, Dennis Wright, of Arkansas, thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norris, a daughter, Grace Wright, three brothers, Ed Barnes, Mick Barnes, and Theo Barnes, one sister, Ethel Day, and a grandson, Clinton Bills. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, at 11:00 a.m. The family will visit with friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
