Talmage “Tim” Clayton, age 76, died Friday, September 3, 2004 at his home in Rexburg.
Tim was born June 1, 1928 at Ucon, Idaho a son of Thomas Hugh Clayton and Louvenia Dorcas Slaughter. He attended schools in Ucon graduating from Ucon High School. During High School Tim played trombone in the high school band. Tim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Tim served in the Army Air Corps during World War II Serving in Nevada, California and London, England with the Military Police.
He worked at the Lincoln Sugar Factory, at the Palisades Dam in the power plant, dry farmed for Glen Blatter above Ammon for a number of years and operated construction equipment helping to build the highway from Ririe to Ucon.
Tim loved to go hunting, fishing and do puzzles.
He is survived by a sister Dollie (Dan) McKenzie of Idaho Falls and a brother Eugene (Patsy) Clayton of Idaho Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers Wilford Clayton, Stanley Clayton, Hyrum Clayton and Merrill Clayton and 3 sisters: Ellie Dutson, Alma Keil and Zelma Clayton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ucon LDS Chapel (10854 North 41 East, Ucon) with Bishop Tim Solomon officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday for one hour prior to services at the Church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Military Rites will be preformed by the Jefferson Veterans Team.
