Ted Leroy Kirkpatrick

Ted Leroy Kirkpatrick, age 89, of Rigby, passed away at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Sunday November 22, 2020.Ted was born February 4 ^th 1931 in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota, the son of William Lawrence Kirkpatrick and Clara May Franzen Kirkpatrick.  From 1951 to 1953 Ted served in the United States Air Force.  He married Beverly Jean Bird in Medora, North Dakota on September 3, 1954. Together they had lived in Medora, ND, Kalispell, MT, Rigby and Salmon, ID. Ted was a member of the Lutheran Church.  He was a founding member of the Snake River Team Ropers Association in 1975.  He played the bass fiddle and was a member of the Old Time Fiddlers. He enjoyed team roping, custom riata braiding, and telling tales of riding the prairies of North Dakota.Ted is survived by his daughter, Jeryl (Bruce) Kreitinger and granddaughter Kara.  Daughter, Margo (Greg) Smith and grandsons, Jason (Andrea) Smith, Brandt Smith, and Kellon (Karlee) Smith, Son, William Gene Kirkpatrick and granddaughter, Quincey,  A sister, Janice Johnson and six great grandchildren. A special friend, Margie Collins.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Beverly Jean Kirkpatrick, sisters, Donna Myers, Carol Hlebichuk and Jan Johnson. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
