Terril Ronald Stone

Terril Ronald Stone, age 76, of Yuma, Arizona and Rigby, Idaho, passed away Wednesday, February 8th, 2017, at Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, Arizona. Terril was born in Rexburg, Idaho May 5th 1940 a son to Ronald James Stone and Iola Huskinson Stone. He graduated from Madison High School in 1958. He served in the National Guard at Fort Ord, California. He worked in Sugar City with his uncle Larry Huskinson doing auto repair where he gained a love of the automotive business. On June 19th 1965 he married Caroline (Tina) Nitz in Rexburg, Idaho. They spent 46 years together working and raising six children. Tina preceded him in death September 13th 2011. Terril then met and married Nancy Lamb July 13th 2013 in Rigby, Idaho. In 1972 he opened up Teton Auto Parts in Jackson Wyoming where he owned and operated that for over three decades. In Jackson Hole, Wyoming he was a volunteer fireman, and actively involved in the Elks Club and Lions Club. He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying. He enjoyed boating and fishing with his family on Jackson Lake and in Island Park. He loved to go snow-machining, was an avid golfer and as a member at Jefferson Hills Golf Course served on the board of directors. He especially enjoyed being with his family. Survivors include: his wife Nancy Stone of Yuma, Arizona, four sons, Randy (Anna) Stone of Rigby, Terry (Ann) Stone of Draper, Utah, Todd (Kerrie) Stone of Idaho Falls, and Michael (Jennifer) Stone of Novato, California, two daughters, Debbie (Larry) Leeper of Bondurant, Wyoming and Susan (Sean) Grant of Springville, Utah, two sisters Janice (Coy) Larsen of St. Anthony and Pat (Jon) Ashment of Mesa Arizona, 17 grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Tina. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 17th 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sand Creek 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 2545 Mesa Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401. The family will visit with friends Thursday, February 16th 2017, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho 83442 and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
