Terry Richard Lee was born December 15, 1941, in American Fork, Utah. He was the youngest son of Harry Richard Lee and Erma Theora Hebdon Lee. The family lived in Utah during World War II then moved to Rigby, Idaho after the war with JoAnn the eldest and Judy the middle, and Terry the youngest. Terry went to school in Rigby, graduating from the local high school in 1961, and shortly after joined the United States Air Force.
Terry served as a flying Crew Chief, rising to the rank of Sergeant until 1965 when he was honorably discharged. While assigned to the 64th Troop Carrier Wing, Terry was assigned to C-130s after Technical School and was part of testing the capabilities of the plane in adverse conditions in Iceland. As a flying Crew Chief, he saw the world from Asia to Europe and witnessed the build-up to the Vietnam War.
While assigned to Dyess Air Force Base in Texas, Terry went home on leave to marry his fiancé Carol Lea Harrop on April 12, 1963. Upon bringing his bride back to Texas two children followed, Mark Richard Lee followed by Barbie Ann Lee. When his enlistment was complete, the family moved back to Idaho to be close to the rest of the family.
Terry supported the family as a mechanic and then a parts person at Snake River Equipment. Part of his duties was as an after-hours on-call emergency parts person. He would frequently answer the call and take his son with him to deliver, sharing his love of trucks. As a father, he coached his son's football team and supported his daughter's drill team and theatrical events. He loved snowmobiles, motorcycles, and camping in Island Park, Idaho almost every summer weekend.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Erma Lee, his wife Carol Harrop Lee, and his sisters JoAnn Baxter and Judy Hartshorn. Also, his two brothers in laws, Jay Williams and Hyrum Baxter.
