Thayne Lamon Hansen

Thayne Lamon Hansen, 47, of Thornton, died at his home Friday April 15, 2011 from complications from cancer. He was under the care of Home Health and Hospice. Thayne was born July 29, 1963 at Rexburg, Idaho a son of George Fredrick and Dorothy Mae Briggs Hansen. He attended schools in Lyman, Archer and Rexburg graduating from Madison High School in 1981. He then attended Ricks College graduating in 1984. During his life he worked as a Security Guard in Hawaii, at Basic American Foods in Rexburg, and as a driver for Road Runner Shuttle Service until shortly before his death. Thayne enjoyed playing poker and being in poker tournaments. He also enjoyed weight lifting, driving fast cars, traveling, picking huckleberries and fishing. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include his twin brother Clayne Hansen and his sister Georgia Hansen both of Thornton, two aunts, Carol Briggs of Independence and Wilma Hansen of Tetonia and an uncle Reed Hansen of St. Anthony. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at The Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:30 to 12:30 both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
