Theda Schneiter

Lt. Col. Theda Schneiter passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013. She was born April 1, 1929, in Annis, Idaho, to Anton August Schneiter and Hazel Eliza Park. Teddy was the youngest of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death: her sisters, Helen Johnston Youngstrom, Sadie Walters, Vonda Casper and Lucy Nathell Schneiter; and her brothers, Amos, Ray, Erven and Dale. Teddy has many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and -nephews and great-grandnieces and -nephews who were a part of her life and love. Theda entered the Air Force on April 28, 1953, and served as a nurse until her retirement April 30, 1973. She has lived in Pennsylvania since her retirement and has been active in traveling, carving, yardwork, prison ministry and was affiliated with St. Peter Parish. Everyone knew Teddy for her sense of humor and jokes; she was famous for her peanut brittle, jellies and applesauce. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at White-Cool Funeral Parlor, 1405 Main St. in Conneautville, Pa., followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Church with Fr. Walsh, celebrant. Dinner will be served after Mass at the Social Hall. Theda's remains will be flown to Idaho and a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday October 5, 2013 at Annis Little-Butte Cemetery.
