Thelda Burns Taylor, 77, of Rigby, died Wednesday August 31, 2005 at Pinebrook Assisted Living Center. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. She was born May 16, 1928, in Burton, Idaho to Henry Stacey Burns and Margaret Hall Burns. She attended school in Burton and Rexburg, graduating from Madison High School. She attended Ricks College for one year. She married Delbert Ray Taylor in Rexburg on January 21, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 16 2004. She was a homemaker raising 4 children and supporting her husband in his business’s Ray’s Chevrolet and Ucon Produce. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the primary and as a visiting teacher. She enjoyed being with her family, traveling with her husband, golfing, bowling, spending time in Island Park, and making a comfortable home for all her loved ones. Survivors include her husband, Ray of Rigby, her children, Scott (Merrillyn) Taylor of Salmon, Cody (Mark) Taylor of Rigby, and Lexie (Clair) Kinghorn of Lewisville, one sister, Donetta Waddell of Tucson, Arizona, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A son, Trent James Taylor, a grandson Christopher Merrill Taylor, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rigby Stake Center. The family will visit with friends Monday, September 5, 2005 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. before services at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
