Thelma Keller, 97, died at The Gardens of Rigby Friday December 13, 2013.
Thelma was born January 28, 1916 in Iona, Idaho a daughter to Henry Walter Haderlie and Ruth Jones Ward Haderlie. She grew up on a farm in Iona where she learned to work. She attended schools in Iona graduating from Iona High School.
Thelma married John Ivan Keller, February 20, 1935 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. She and Ivan started their lives in the Iona area until moving to Anaconda, Montana where he worked. She spent her years in Anaconda active with her family. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings in the Relief Society, Primary, Young Women and in any other capacities she was called to serve in.
While living in Anaconda she would gather her friends and travel to the Idaho Falls Temple regularly.
She enjoyed crafts, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
She moved to Centralia, Missouri to be close to her son. She moved into a nursing home and in 2008 was named the Nursing Home Queen and then went on to receive the title of 4th place Missouri State Nursing Home Queen. She moved to the Gardens of Rigby in 2012.
She is survived by her children Marguerite (Merle) Casey of Richland, Washington and Paul (Fina) Keller of Wichita, Kansas, sisters Ruby McGavin of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Betty (Bob) Shaw of Ucon, Idaho, a brother Verle (Fran) Haderlie of Iona and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ivan in 2005, six children, one sister, one brother and a grandson.
Graveside Services will be held Monday December 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ammon Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and on Monday from 11:30 to 12:30 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
