Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Theo Irvin Hanson, passed away on October 27th, 2011, with his family by his side.
He was born in Annis Idaho, on October 9th, 1929 to Irvin and Annie Hanson. He grew up and attended school at Annis Elementary and Midway High School. He was involved in softball, football and FFA. After High School he attended Ricks College in 1949. He lived in Annis all his life and had many good friends in the community.
While in High School he met the love of his life, Ruth Green and on June 2nd 1950 they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. Theo remained a faithful member of the Church and often bore testimony of gospel principles to his family.
Theo enjoyed reading, fishing, spending time with his family, and working on the farm. He was not afraid of hard work and appreciated a good days labor. He enjoyed raising and taking care of his cows and kept his family involved in helping over the years.
Theo is survived by his wife, Ruth Green Hanson of Annis; son Myrle (Julia) Hanson, of Menan; daughters, LuAnn (Dave) Plourde of Idaho Falls, Treena (Daryl) Moore of Rigby, Rita (Tony) McCulloch of Rexburg, Lorna (Ralph) Richards of Annis, and Susan (Gary) Sears of Annis, brother; Ted (Sharon) Hanson, of Annis; sister, Oriole Treasure, of Idaho Falls; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way.
He is preceded in death by his son, Oscar Dean Hanson, parents Irvin and Annie Hanson, brother, Bennair Hanson, and sisters, Marilyn Ward and Lelia Ward.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October, 31, 2011, at the Menan Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45, prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
