Theora Cooper Field, 93 of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Saturday, April 19, 2003 at her home.
Theora’s parents settled in Iona and the Ririe Highway area in the early 1900’s where Theora attended church and graduated from school. Theora was born June 10, 1908 to James Aurelious and Amanda Olsen Cooper. Theora married Elmer Lindholm of Iona and had four children; Lois Anderson of Rigby, Joleen Summers of Rexburg, ElBoyd Lindholm of Moses Lake, Washington and Sharon Coyle, Omaha, Nebraska. Theora later married Tom Hillesheim, Sr. and had a son, Tom Hillesheim of Idaho Falls. Later in life, Theora married Elvin Field of Grant and helped raise Elvin’s three children; Verla Lindholm, deceased, Alfred Field, deceased and Darlene Heiner of Bedford, Wyoming.
In Theora’s later years, she lived in her home on the Cooper homestead, Ririe Highway. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, Theora was active in Relief Society and was a visiting teacher. Theora enjoyed singing in the Church choir and taught Sunday School and Primary classes throughout her lifetime.
Theora enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers, she quilted and made several quilts for her family that will always be cherished, admired and put to good use. Theora was a hard worker and was “on the go” all the time. Theora loved her family, and of course, she will continue to live in our hearts, be in our thoughts and be remembered for all her goodness, kindness and love of family.
Preceding her in death were: parents, James Aurelious and Amanda Cooper, sister, and brother-in-law, Venla and Francis Wright of Rexburg; brothers, Newel Cooper, Roy (and wife Betty) Cooper, Lynn Cooper; and two step-children, Verla (Brent) Lindholm of Blackfoot and Alfred (Diane) Field of Grant.
Theora is survived by a brother, Wayne (Arlene) Cooper of Idaho Falls and a sister, Norma (Mark, deceased) Ball of Idaho Falls; sisters-in-law, Barbara Cooper Schweider and Marlene Cooper both of Idaho Falls, and the following children. Lois (Lloyd) Anderson of Rigby, Joleen (Boyd) Summers, of Rexburg, Idaho, Boyd (Maralyn) Lindholm of Moses Lake, Washington, Sharon Coyle of Humboldt, Nebraska, Tom (Ana) Hillesheim of Idaho Falls, and Darlene (Carl) Heiner of Bedford, Wyoming.
In addition, Theora is survived by twenty grandchildren, fifty-four great grandchildren and fourty-three great great grandchildren.
The grandchildren will always remember Grandma Field because they knew Grandma Field loved them and it seemed she always had a stick of gum or something sweet to give them. Everyone looked forward to seeing Grandma Field.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Clark-Shelton Church (198 North 4300 East) with Bishop Richard Howard officiating. The family will meet with friends, Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main, Rigby, Idaho) from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Clark-Shelton Church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery, Iona, Idaho under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home.
