Thomas “Ivan” Pierce, age 85,of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Ivan was born May 19, 1921 at Lorenzo, Idaho the son of Ezekial Lee Pierce and Mary Lornia Mitchell Pierce. Ivan grew and attended schools in Annis, Idaho, and graduated from rigby High School. He married Frances Amelia Mae Walton August 11, 1956 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. this marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Fall L.D.S. Temple. Ivan served in the U.S. Army During WWII in Germany, France, and England.. In 1957 he attended Idaho State University, and earned a degree in refrigeration. Moved to Rigby and worked for Bass & Hurley in their potato warehouse. He moved to Miles City Montana where he worked in refrigeration. He moved back to Idaho Falls, where he worked for the Idaho Starch Plant. He worked for Coca Cola in Idaho Falls until his retirement in 1982. He was a active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his children & grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and Family get togethers. He was a joker. Survivors included six daughters, Carol (Jeff) Blenings of Pitman, New Jersey, Genny Brown of Pitman, New Jersey, Lisa (Roy) Ricks of Idaho Falls, Diane (David) Roberts of Menan, Sherry Lynn Pierce of Idaho Falls, Betty (Denny) Elmer of Firth, son Tom (Maddie) Pierce Jr. of Salmon, Idaho, sister Ruth Brower of Pocatello, and sister-in-law Nellie Pierce of Rigby, 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, wife Frances two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 27, 2007. The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and prior to the services for one hour. Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
