Thomas Floyd Samuelson, 40 of Rigby, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, after a lifelong battle with breathing problems.
He was born January 15, 1972, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg. Due to a weeklong blizzard it was a consideration that he would be born at home. He was the second son and the fourth child to Larry Floyd Samuelson and Myla Gay Casper Samuelson. He grew up in Menan and Rexburg before moving to Rigby in 2005. He graduated from Madison High School in 1990 and worked for Upper Valley Industries, McDonalds, and Deseret Industries in Rexburg.
Thomas enjoyed making dream catchers, growing peppers to make hot pepper sauce, cooking, making homemade Ice-cream, music; especially Mannheim Steamroller, and arrangements by composer Jean Sibelius.
His older brother Kenneth died in 1977 and his father died in 2009.
He is survived by his mother, Myla Samuelson, of Rigby, sisters, Sarah (Fred) Hayes, of Ontario, NY, Larrynda Samuelson, of Rigby, brother, Steven Samuelson, of Pendleton, Oregon, nieces, Susie Hayes, of Pittsburg, PA, Shaina Hayes, of Ontario, NY, Araya Reeves, of Pendleton, Oregon and nephew Jake Samuelson, of Vancouver, WA.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will received friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
