Thomas Theodore Swager

July 20, 1921 — December 22, 2005

Thomas Theodore Swager, 84, of Rigby died Thursday, December 22, 2005, at his home. Tom was born July 20, 1921 in Idaho Falls, Idaho a son of Carl William Swager and Frances Alberta Sullivan Swager. He was raised and attended school in Blackfoot. He attended Idaho State University and University of Idaho where he received a Bachelor’s Degree. Tom graduated from the Ford Marketing Institute in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the Idaho National Guard with the 116th mounted cavalry. Tom was drafted during World War II and he attended the Officer Candidate School for the United States Army. He continued serving with the United States Army Reserves until he retired. Tom was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He owned and operated Swager Motors in Rigby and was a charter member of the Rotary International Organization in Rigby. Tom was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Idaho Falls. Tom loved to fish. Tom is survived by his wife Lois Dee Swager, a son Shon Swager both of Rigby and one sister Jean Radigan of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two older brothers, Richard and Jack Swager. Military graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Military Rites will be performed by the Jefferson Veteran’s Team.
