Thyrald Harris Finn

Thyrald Harris Finn, age 87, of Rigby, died at his home Saturday, February 16, 2008. Thyrald was born October 4, 1920 at Clark Ward, Idaho, a son of Wilford Harris and Sarah Jeffs Finn. He attended schools in Clark and Rigby graduating from Rigby High School. He then attended Ricks College. He married Elaine Rushton March 16, 1944 in the Cardston, Alberta Canada L.D.S. Temple. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving a mission in the North Western States Mission and then with his wife in the California, San Bernardino Mission. He also served as a counselor in the Clark Ward Bishopric, on the Rigby East Stake High Council, as Bishop of the Clark Ward and as an Ordinance Worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. He was a Dairy Farmer most of his life and served as a member of the Soil Conservation Committee and on the board and president of Farm Bureau. He enjoyed trail riding, playing softball, watching his kids, grandkids and great grandkids in their activities and loved dancing. Survivors include: his wife Elaine Finn of Rigby, one daughter Marcia Kay (Craig) Hammer of Greenwood, Indiana, four sons: T. Larry Finn of West Point, Utah, James Clay (Debbie) Finn of Rigby, Scott Harris (Tina) Finn of Orlando, Florida and Jeffrey Jay Finn of Rigby, three sisters: Betty Brower of Rexburg, Olive Deschamp of Idaho Falls, and Beth (Ray) Tolley of Salt Lake City, Utah, 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Wade Rushton Finn 1 brother and 7 sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Clark Ward LDS Church. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
