Tim Beck Thomson

Tim Beck Thomson, 76, of Sugar City, left this world to join with relatives and friends on April 30, 2014 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Tim was born, March 13, 1938 to Royle Swainston and Mary leora Beck Thomson. He lived in Sugar City all his life. He met Irene Ellis at Ricks College at a dance, after he served a mission to New Zealand and when she graduated from Ricks College with her LPN, they were married in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple on September 2, 1960. Tim worked at Roger Brothers, Idaho Fresh Pak, and Owned and operated a Top Soil Business since 1962, farmed and ran a Dairy with his father and worked at the Nelson Ricks Creamery. He also worked as a church custodian for nine and a half years. Tim worked for the Madison School District in Food Service for about three years. He retired in 1998. Tim was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including, Assistant Scout master, taking leaders and scouts on trail rides, counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidency with Merrill Pincock, and as ward librarian for 5 years. He loved temple work and in one day baptized 348 people. He also served as a 4-h leader, teaching about horses and trail riding. Tim was in charge of purchasing food for the pioneer breakfast for many years. He was a good husband, father, grandfather and good neighbor and friend to all he came in contact with. He is survived by his wife Irene Thomson of Sugar City, Kevin Tim (Malinda Simon) Thomson, Barry Lane Thomson, Kim (Daren) Hiner, Terrell Scott (Fiancee Nicole Griffith) Thomson, 10 grandchildren: Brittany (Tony)Scott, Nick Hiner, Bryan Hiner, Steven Tim (Kathleen Davenport) Thomson, KaeLeigh Thomson, T.J. Thomson, Cicily Thomson, Agustus “Gus” Thomson, Hannah Thomson and Sophie Thomson, brothers and sisters Marge Lords, Van B. (Macel Rasmussen) Thomson, Roy Beck (Karen Stander) Thomson, Judy Thomson. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, son Stephen B. Thomson, brother John Thomson, and Mary Ann and Claude Mariano. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sugar City Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Sugar City 2nd and 4th Ward L.D.S. Church on Main Street (Gray Building) and prior to the funeral on Monday from 10:00 a.m. till time of service, at the Stake Center.
