Caroline “Tina” Stone, 69, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011, in Rexburg, Idaho, after a courageous battle of lung and brain cancer. Tina was born on May 27, 1942, in Odessa Minnesota to Alfred and Berdina Nitz. On June 19, 1965, she married her true love and best friend, Terril “Terry” Stone in Rexburg, Idaho. They were blessed to raise and love six children. In 1969 they moved to Jackson, Wyoming, where they owned and managed together a Napa Auto Parts store for 24 years. They retired to Rigby, Idaho in 1993. Tina loved the outdoors and was very active. She was an avid snowmobiler, having won Wyoming State Championship Speed Oval in the 340 class in 1975. She was also an exceptional bowler, having bowled a high line of 265 game and a 614 series. Tina served as president of the B.P.O.E (Doe’s) in Jackson, Wyoming. Tina had a deep love for golfing, boating, and fishing. Tina and Terril spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona with dear friends. Tina’s greatest love of all was to spend quality time with her family and grandchildren. Tina is survived by her loving husband, Terril Ronald Stone, of Rigby, Idaho, daughters, Debra (Larry) Leeper, of Jackson, Wyoming, Susan (Sean) Grant, of Springville, Utah, sons, Randy (Anna) Stone, of Rigby, Idaho, Terry (Ann) Stone, of Draper, Utah, Todd (Kerrie) Stone, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Michael (Jennifer) Stone, of Novato, California, 17 Grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and one great-grandchild expected in January 2012. She is also survived by her brothers, Fritz (Bea) Nitz, of Rinco, Georgia, Mike (Mary) Nitz, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Gene (Josie) Nitz, of Zimmerman Minnesota, Donny (Linda) Nitz, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and sister, Peggy Grothe of Millbank South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Danny Nitz, and sister, Sharon Anderson. Tina will be remembered by her soft spoken voice, her contagious smile, hardworking attitude, as an exceptional wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother and for her determination to stay strong and upbeat during her struggle with her illness. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011, at the Rigby 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 364 N. 4100 E. Rigby, with Bishop Robert Clarke, conducting. The family will receive friends from, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Friday evening and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services, both at the church. Burial will be in the Teton Newdale Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
