Todd Douglas Durrant, age 59, passed away on April 27, 2022, in Phoenix Arizona.
Todd Douglas Durrant was born January 16, 1963, in Idaho Falls Idaho, a son to Norlan and Janice Durrant. He was number 3 out of 7 children. He had 2 older brothers Dan’L and Dane at that time and more siblings to come. His brother Evan, 2 sisters Kendra and Karen, and his last brother Jay rounded out the family. He grew up on the Durrant Dry farm and loved doing cattle and farming. He loved spending time with his grandpa. He would dress up in a western shirt and cowboy boots and they would round up the cows and take them to market in Idaho Falls.
He was baptized a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints. He played football and baseball in high school. Todd married his high school sweetheart Leeshia Sanders in 1980 and shortly after his daughter was born in December 1980. Later in life, he had a son, Nick was born in 1993 in Boise Idaho.
He had many jobs in life but for the majority of time, he was a baker and a cake decorator. He worked for many grocery stores and was very talented. He taught many people how to decorate cakes. He was a carpenter like his father and built many staircases and banisters. He made benches trunks, cradles, and hutches. He lived in Texas, California, and Idaho. Todd loved to hunt and fish. He loved motorcycles and partying with friends. He also loved country music. In 2017 he had two massive strokes that left him with a traumatic brain injury. He lived in the Boise hospital for a year and eventually was moved to Phoenix Arizona to live in a skilled nursing facility that specialized in dementia and behavioral health. He lived there until 2022 when he passed away.
Todd is survived by his mother Janice, 85 years of Ririe, his brother Dan’l of Idaho Falls, his sisters Kendra Price, Roswell NM, Karen Durrant, Ririe Idaho, and JR Durrant, of Ririe, his Children Kristi Jencks of Gilbert Arizona and Nick Durrant of Boise Idaho and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Todd will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 28, 2022, at Eckersell Funeral Home located at 101 W Main St., Rigby ID 83442. Visitation will be prior to the services starting at 9:30a.m. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
