Tony Scott

We are grateful for the life of Tony Keith Scott who returned home to his maker September 20, 2010. And though his life was short it was both meaningful and happy. Tony, the youngest of five children, was born to Keith and Marjorie Winchester Scott on August 14, 1962 in Rigby, Idaho. Tony grew from boy to man in Rigby attending and graduating from school there. He continued his education at Ricks College in Rexburg and I-Tech in Idaho Falls. He also served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Independence Missouri Mission. On February 24, 1990, he married Gayle Marie Bailey in the Seattle, Washington LDS Temple. Tony was a man of faith, and served in many capacities including: primary teacher, in the Elders Quorum Presidency, ward financial clerk, nursery leader, Sunday School Teacher, and scout leader and currently was serving as ward clerk. He was also of member of the Rigby Rotary Club and the Jaycees organizations. As co-owner of Scotty’s True Value since 1981, he is remembered as a people person, he was genuinely concerned for friends, co-workers, and many acquaintances he met on a daily basis. Tony was true family man and those left behind will miss him deeply. They include: his wife, Gayle Scott, daughters, Rashell and Maya, sons, Bailey and Canyon all of Menan, sister, Patricia Scott, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Krystal (Jerry) VanLeuven, of Roberts, and a brother, Kirk (Kathee) Scott, of Rigby, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Mike Scott. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held Friday, September 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., at the Menan Stake Center, the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the stake center. Burial will be in the Coupeville-Sunnyside Cemetery in Washington. Remembrances may be made to LDS Church Education Fund, Humanitarian Fund, Cancer Society, or any charity of your choice.
