Valene Foster

November 13, 1942 — February 24, 2005

Valene Foster, 62, of Rigby, Idaho, died at her home, Thursday , February 24, 2005 after a valiant fight with cancer. Valene was born November 13, 1942 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Melvin Frank Hunter and Elva Christina Anderson Hunter. She attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1961. She continued her education at Excelsior Cosmetology School in Idaho Falls. On June 7, 1963 she married Earl L. Foster in Idaho Falls. She worked at Taylor Produce for many years. Valene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a leader in the Cub Scouts and in the 4-H programs for many years. She spent the last ten years traveling the United States with her husband in their fifth wheel trailer. She was a talented photographer who won many ribbons and awards for her pictures, arts and crafts. She catered, decorated and did photography for celebrations and weddings. Valene loved to be in the outdoors fishing and camping with her family and her biggest gift in life was giving to others. She is survived by her husband Earl LeRoy Foster of Rigby, Idaho. Two daughters, Sondra Foster of Rigby, Idaho and Sherri (Jim) Carranza of West Jordan, Utah. A son, Bryan (Karen) Foster of Rigby, Idaho. Three sisters, Ruth (Louis) Schwarzmann of Colorado Springs, Colorado, LaRaine Simmons of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Elva May (Richard) Ambrosek of Idaho Falls, Idaho. A brother, Floyd Hunter of Pocatello, Idaho. Seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 28, 2005 in the Rose Hill Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. The family will meet with friends and family at Eckersell Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 28, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
