Vardus Wayne Radford

Vardus Wayne Radford, age 80, of Rigby, passed away at his home, Monday, May 16th 2016. Vardus was born January 17th 1936 in Ririe, Idaho a son to Glen James and Dortha Louise Monroe Radford. He graduated from Rigby High School. While in high school he played Football and Basketball. At the age of 18 he served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Shirley Fontaine Grover, October 21, 1955 in Archer, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple October 21st 1995. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked as a swimming pool contractor in San Diego California for 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on old tractors, mornings at Bob’s with friends. He is survived by his wife Shirley Radford of Rigby, two daughters: Rene` Radford (Steven) Bazzar of Mesa, Arizona, and Shirlene Radford (Keith) Hathaway of El Cajon, California, one son Douglas Wayne (Susan) Radford of Rigby, a brother: Lynn Edward Radford of Ucon, 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Brenda Lee Radford Kelley, a son William Glen Radford, a sister Ruth Radford Gibbons and a brother James Radford, and 1 grandson Dustin Wayne Radford. Funeral services will be held Friday May 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the Clark LDS Church198 North 4300 East, Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Clark Church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
