Veda Mable Green Erickson

Veda Mable Green Erickson, age 83, of Lewisville, died Friday, December 08, 2006, in Rigby. Veda was born December 26, 1922 at Menan, a daughter to William Lorenzo and Dora Amanda Taylor Green. She attended Menan schools and graduated from Midway High School. On September 7, 1940 she married John Neal Erickson in Butte, Montana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on March 29, 1956. She is a member of the LDS Church serving in many callings. Veda enjoyed her cars, horses, attending family sporting events, pitching for the Midway boys high school softball team and the Rockettes Women’s Semi professional fast pitch softball team, bowling on leagues until she was 80 years old, and her family. Survivors include her husband John Neal Erickson of Lewisville; two daughters: Dora Jolene (Pete) Mickelsen and Janeal (Roger) Nield both of Lewisville; three sons: John Lynn (Coleen) Erickson of Lewisville, Brent W. (Mary) Erickson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Blair G. (Celia) Erickson of Idaho Falls; and two sisters Opal Walker of Rigby and Dortha Walker of Kaysville, Utah: 27 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 1 great -great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers: Wray, Calvin, Cecil, Lyle and Dale and one grandchild Jill Erickson. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 11, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lewisville 1st Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop James T. Gneiting officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
