Velma Faye Stacey John returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, May 20, 2011.
She was the first child born to Eldon Richard Stacey and Velma (James) Stacey in Rigby, Idaho on May 26, 1943. She was raised in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. She married Clinton Douglas Nebeker with whom she had four daughters. She had the opportunity to live in several states with her family while her husband served in the Navy. They eventually divorced and she had two other marriages to Darrell Middaugh and Harry Jones. Later in life she married Andrew Levi John and was sealed to him in the Salt Lake City, LDS Temple.
Velma was a very caring and giving individual and was able to make good friends wherever she went. She put her compassion to use working as a caregiver for many years in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg areas.
She enjoyed making crafts, gardening, plants, animals, and being outdoors. She loved spending as much time as she could with her family.
Velma is survived by her husband Andrew Levi John; daughters; Velma Rosezelle Nebeker, of Idaho Falls, Kristinea Michelle Baker, of Chubbuck, Delores Faye Dodds, of Idaho Falls, Shirley Kaye Jones, of Shelton, Washington, mother; Velma Stacey, of Rigby; Brothers, Richard Lee Stacey of Boise, Douglas James Stacey, Edwin Blaine Stacey, and Kenneth J. Stacey, all of Rigby. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Stacey, and former spouse, Harry E. Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2011 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Memorial contributions may be made at any Zion’s Bank branch.
