Venice Baugh Rohwer, 82 of Rigby, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, on the 59th anniversary of the day she and Ervin were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. Her family expresses their sincere gratitude to Sage Grove Assisted Living Center in Rigby and to Aspen Home Health and Hospice for their kind and loving care.
Venice was born May 10, 1934 in Wellsville, Utah to George Ferguson Baugh and Blanche Lofthouse Baugh. She was raised and attended schools in Wellsville, graduating from Wellsville High School. On June 1, 1956, she married Ervin Earl Rohwer in Wellsville, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple July 29, 1957. They were blessed with 2 daughters and 4 sons. In addition to being a wife and mother, Venice, along with her husband Ervin, owned and operated Sunshine Laundry in Rigby.
Venice was a member of The Church of Latter-day Saints; she served in the Nursery, as a Ward Librarian, and as a Visiting Teacher. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed music, her grandchildren, babies, gardening and flowers.
She is survived by a daughter; Janet (Kevin) Peterson, of Rigby, sons; Lonnie Earl (Cindy) Rohwer, of Billings, Montana, Byron Baugh (Becky) Rohwer, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Darrell Ervin (Debra) Rohwer, of Arimo, Idaho, Paul Wynn (Brenda) Rohwer, of Nampa, Idaho, brothers; Keith Baugh of Kennewick, Washington and Clint (Edna) Baugh of Wellsville, Utah, sisters-in-law; Karen Rohwer, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Alice (Carroll) Crittenden, of Hooper, Utah, 15 grandchildren, Lexie, Kirstyn, Dayton, Ryan, KayAnn, Kristine, Kaylene, Kathyleen, Krystal, Robert, Mike, Tim, Narcissus, Amelia, Melissa and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Blanche Baugh, husband, Ervin Earl Rohwer, daughter, Julie May Rohwer, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Rigby 9th Ward LDS Chapel, 258 W. 1st North. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
