Vera Williams Bowden

July 15, 1925 — February 14, 2005

Vera Williams Bowden, 79, of Milo, died Monday, February 14, 2005 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born July 15, 1925, in Weston, Idaho the daughter of Rolland Burbank Williams and Annie Sophia Georgeson Williams. She grew up in Weston and attended Weston High School. She married Wayne K. Bowden in the Logan LDS Temple on June 5, 1942. They lived in San Francisco, California, Preston, Idaho, Idaho Falls and Ammon before settling in Milo in 1957. She won many ribbons at the Eastern Idaho State Fair for her sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had served in various callings including Ward Librarian for twenty-two years. She enjoyed reading, canning and was a dedicated wife and mother and enjoyed being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Bowden of Milo, Idaho. Her children, Kenneth (Karen) Bowden of El Cajon, California, Vicki England of Wellton, Arizona, Kathy Simonds of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Debra (Cliff) Rogers of Everett, Washington, Julie (Craig) Stephenson of Blackfoot and Gary (Nicki) Bowden of Idaho Falls. Brothers and sisters, Herbert (Faye) Williams and Rhea (Keith) Taylor. Nineteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, LaVon Williams, and two sisters, Ruby Dunkley, and Galdys Buttars and a grandson, Derrick Bowden. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Milo LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Bart Davis officiating. The family will meet with friends on Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Milo LDS Ward Chapel from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday at the Milo Church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery in Milo, Idaho under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home.
