Vera Inez Geisler, 86, of Annis, Idaho died Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Rexburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Inez was born December 20, 1918 in Annis, the daughter of George Denzel and Elsie Merrill Rainey.
She married Clyde Geisler, on January 17, 1934 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 6, 1949. She farmed with her husband during the summer and worked in the warehouse in the winters. After retirement they traveled throughout the Eastern United States, California, Mexico and spent fourteen winters in Quartzsite, Arizona. They also belonged to a square dance group that danced through out the valley.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints and served as Relief Society and Young Women’s Presidents. With her husband she served as Stake Old Folks Chairman for many years.
She served as a Pink Lady Volunteer at the Idaho Falls LDS Hospital where she was given an award for 1000 hours of service.
She was an excellent cook who was generous with all that she made, loved to fish regularly out fishing all others in the boat and going to watch her daughter, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren play ball, perform in musical recitals or programs.
She is survived by a daughter, Deon (Paul) Reed of St. George, Utah. Two sons; Kent (Bonnie) Geisler of Annis, Idaho and Kirk (Sally) Geisler of LaBelle, Idaho. Two brothers; Cecil Rainey of Rexburg, Idaho and Don Rainey of Moses Lake, Washington. Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde, a son; Max Geisler and three brothers; Alvin Rainey, Myrle Rainey and Dee Rainey.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Menan LDS Stake Center with Bishop Kevin Searle officiating. The family will meet with friends on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and on Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Menan Stake Center from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
