Vera Emily Shaffer

Vera Emily Shaffer, age 94, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2006, at Stonebrook Nursing Home, in Concord, California. Vera was born December 9, 1911, in Shelton, Idaho, the daughter of William and Emily Cleverly. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were she served in the Relief Society. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard M. Shaffer, who had served as the Sheriff of Jefferson County. She later married Bud Mitchell, he also preceded her in death. Vera is survived by a daughter, Helen Faye Bolles of Concord, California. She is survived by one granddaughter, Danette Mullen of Concord, California, and one grandson, Kendall H. Powell of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is survived by five great grandchildren, one sister, Lottie Jacobson and one brother, Vern Cleverly. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4th at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
