Our beloved mother and grandmother, Vera Lusty, passed away on June 26, 2018 at age 104. Even though she had good health until the end, she often said, “Don’t pray to live too long!” She missed her family and friends who preceded her in death.
Vera was the daughter of Hans Peter and Edith Ella (Robbins) Madsen of Rigby, Idaho. She was the 13 th of 14 children. She spent most of her life in Rigby, Idaho. She later lived in Salt Lake City, Provo and Riverton, Utah. She has four children: John (Betty) Wood of North Ogden, Utah; Colleen--deceased (Bob) Richards of Orem, Utah; Brian (Lugene) West of South Jordan, Utah and DeeAnn (Jon) Larsen of Sandy, Utah. She has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Her life was often difficult, but it helped build the strong character she possessed. She was full of humor and made friends with all she met. She was an excellent cook. Her favorite event was preparing meals for her children and their spouses and enjoying their company. She loved to make pies and cookies and share them with her family, friends and neighbors. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Vera was preceded in death by her husbands John Wyatt Wood, Tenneth K. West, and N. Scott Lusty as well as her daughter, Vera Colleen Richards, grandson, David Terry West and a great-grandchild, Benjamin Todd Jolley.
