Verdale E. Hill

Verdale E. Hill, age 80, of Ririe, died at Idaho Falls Life Care Center, Thursday, December 19, 2013. He was born June 16, 1933 at Garfield, Idaho a son of Howard Hill and Bertha Billman Hill. He grew up and attended schools in Independence and Burton, graduating from Madison High School. Verdale served with the US Army in the United States and Germany and specialized as a crane operator. On December 15, 1953, he married Bonnie Lou Hill in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He farmed in the Rigby and Ririe areas throughout his life. Verdale was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Home Teacher. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lou Hill, of Rigby, daughters, Brenda (Lou) Fullerton, of Rigby, Loretta Johnson, of Idaho Falls, sons, Ivan Hill, of Rigby, Blair (Cara) Hill, of Rigby, brothers, Merlin (Bernice) Hill, of Idaho Falls, Larry (Shirley) Hill, of Lorenzo, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Bruce Hill. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Perry Ward Building in Ririe, with Bishop Justin Miller conducting. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, prior to services, both at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe Shelton Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
