Vergie Louise David, 82 of Elko, NV, formerly of Roberts and Idaho Falls, died Friday, April 9, 2010 in Elko, NV.
She was born December 4, 1927, in Monteview, to Thomas Winder and Dorubary Wilson Winder. She was raised and attended schools in the Menan area.
On June 14, 1946, she married Harold Roland David in Menan, Idaho.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked as a Riveter for Continental Car Company in Denver Colorado, managed the Idaho Falls, KOA Camp Ground for 10 years, and was a Milk Truck Driver, along with her husband. She served as President of the PTA or as a PTA member throughout the time her children were in school, and served as President of the American Legion Auxiliary. Vergie enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, watching birds, drawing and hand work.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Marilyn Joy (Mark) Sorensen, of Elko, Nevada, Kae Dene Carter, of Blackfoot, Ronda Darlene (Bruce) Grover, of Rigby, 2 sisters, Paulene Phipps, of California, Patsy D. Tolman, of Nevada, 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 sisters, 4 brothers, and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, the family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
