Verla Corlene McGavin Randall Mueller, 85, past away peacefully, incident to age, at her home in Grant, Idaho, on March 10, 2017.
Verla was born November 24, 1931, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, daughter of George Gee McGavin and Hazel Jeanette Tanner McGavin. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1949. Married Owen Dale Randall October 25, 1950, in Idaho Falls, and was sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on November 19, 1963. They spent 50 wonderful years together until Dale's passing May 29, 2000. She was married to Phil A. Mueller on April 16, 2005 until his passing on April 21, 2010.
Verla worked at California Packing Corp., Keith Jorgenson's Music, and Melaleuca. She participated in the Midway and Rigby PTAs, and was an active and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as Primary teacher and president, ward and stake Young Women's president and counselor in the stake Relief Society, as well as numerous other callings including being a faithful visiting teacher for 66 years.
Verla and Dale owned and operated a Century Farm in Grant, and a cattle ranch, near Dubois, Idaho. They also had a livestock equipment business. Verla did all the bookkeeping for all three endeavors.
Verla and Dale had 4 children; daughters, Kathryn (Brent) Jones of Rigby, Alene (Rick) Keller of Pocatello, Sanette (Bill) Williams of Bountiful Utah; and a son, Bruce Randall, of Grant. She had 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren. She considered the Mueller children as her own; Blake (Renae) Mueller of Idaho Falls, Mark (Alison) Mueller of Jackson, Wyoming, Steve (Natalie) Mueller of Idaho Falls, Brenda (Nathan) Anderson of Rigby, Melanie (Seth) Burgie of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as Phil's grandchildren.
Verla loved to dance, she enjoyed painting, quilting, sewing, home decorating, gardening, and singing in the ward and stake choirs. Her most cherished role in life was that of wife, mother, and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her husband, Owen Dale Randall; husband Phil A. Mueller; her parents; sisters, Wanda (Marvin) Shurtliff, Clara (Jay) Stacey, and Helen (LaMar) Leatham; brothers, Wilford, Orvin (Beatrice), and Glen McGavin; daughter, Kathryn Jones.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Grant LDS Church, 3431 E. 100 N., Rigby, with Bishop Vaughn Quinn, conducting. The family will receive family and friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the Grant LDS Church, and on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Funeral Home.
