Verla Wilding, 92, of Milo died Saturday, August 18, 2007 at her home in Milo.
Verla was born October 4, 1914 in Rigby, Idaho a daughter of Samuel Clifford Bowles and Sarah Campbell Bowles. She was raised and attended school in Milo. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary, Young Women President, Sunday School Teacher and Relief Society President. Verla married Harold Joseph Wilding on October 21, 1931 in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. They farmed in the Milo area for fifty years. She enjoyed yard work, gardening, quilting, crocheting and baking.
Verla is survived by her daughters Vonda Wilding of Rigby, Betty (Richard) Hymas of Everett, Washington, Marilyn (Steve) Miller of Idaho Falls, son Michael Joseph Wilding of Idaho Falls, daughter-in-law Carolyn Hunter of Idaho Falls, sisters Alice Curtis of Lehi, Utah, Arzella Wheeler of Idaho Falls, Phyllis Moss of Rigby, Mildred Madsen of Kerns, Utah, Myrna Armstrong of Vernal, Utah, brothers Jay Bowles of Rigby and Aldon Bowles of St. Anthony, 21 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.
Verla was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son Gary, one grandson Michael and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Milo Foothills Ward (12127 North 75 East Idaho Falls) with Bishop Brian Cook officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and prior to the service at the church on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
