Verna Jean Groth

Verna Jean Tyler Groth, 75 of Rigby, left us in the twinkling of an eye, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Verna was born August 8, 1939 in Ucon, Idaho to Joseph LeMond Tyler and LuVenda Harriet Barker Tyler. She was raised and attended schools in Ririe. On November 15, 1955 she married James Everett Groth in Ririe. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Nevada where they lived for 46 years before returning to Idaho in 2012. Verna was a member of Diamond Valley Homemakers. After raising her family she enjoyed working at EZ Stop in Eureka, Nevada. Verna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in many capacities including Primary President, and Relief Society President. She was an amazing seamstress and she loved to sew for her children and grandchildren, was an excellent cook, and she loved dolls and a good bargain. Verna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, in addition to raising her children she also took in and raised nephews, nieces and grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Everett Groth of Rigby, daughters, Connie (Steve) Jones, Kim Calvin, both of Rigby, sons, James T. Groth, of Rigby, Jeffrey (Lachelle) Groth of Ely, NV, Aaron (Christina) Groth, of Ririe, sisters, Linda (Steve) Nilsson, of Idaho Falls, Judy (Eric) Andersen, of Rigby, brothers, Val (Julie) Tyler, of Rigby, 20 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kent LeMond Tyler. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Rigby East Stake Center, 641 E. 1st South, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. And from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
