Verna Mae Thorngren

Verna Mae Thorngren, age 84 of Rigby passed away at her home, Monday February 3, 2025.

Verna was born June 15, 1940 in Blackfoot, Idaho a daughter of Robert and Wilma Humphreys.

She married LaMont Ray Thorngren June 6, 1958 in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple may 8, 1963.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She served in many callings and loved them all.  She worked for many years for the Bonneville School District #93.  She enjoyed flowers, camping, fishing, sopping and being with family.  Family was her number one joy in life.

She is survived by two daughters Bridget (Ben) Mitchell of Rexburg and Colleen Bradshaw of Rigby, two sons, Bill Thorngren of Idaho Falls and Monty Thorngren of Rigby, one sister Gail Oswald of Meridian Idaho, and two sister-in-law’s Jannie (Kenneth) Sudsweeks of Clearfield, Utah and Darlene Gardner of North Ogden, Utah. Twenty grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren.  Many great greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband LaMont Thorngren of Rigby, her parents one daughter Cindy Rae, Randall Bradshaw son-in-law a brother and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday February 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.  In the Menan Stake Center with Bishop Kyle Taylor Conducting.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 7: 30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby 101 W main Street. Then on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Menan Stake Center. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
