Verna Wolfensberger age 93, of Rigby, died Friday, August 4, 2006, at the Pine Brook Assisted Living Center in Rigby.
Verna was born July 1, 1913, in Rigby, Idaho a daughter of Merit Josiah Wood and Margret Hubbard Wood. She attended school and graduated in Rigby. Verna married Henry Wolfensberger on November 10, 1934 in Dillon, Montana. She worked for Helen’s Fabric in Rigby for several years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various positions including the Stake Primary Presidency and as a Relief Society visiting teacher. Verna was a great and wonderful mother who enjoyed her family and was a great seamstress who enjoyed quilting, pinnocle and reading.
Survivors include one daughter, Gay Lynn (Randy) Rolfe, two sons, Bill (Rhea) Wolfensberger and Alan (Sharon) Wolfensberger all of Rigby and one sister Leda Madsen all of Rigby, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, 4 sisters and one daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2006, at the LaBelle 3rd Ward Chapel 364 North 4100 East with Bishop Bruce Karren conducting. The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening August 6, 2006, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and prior to the service on Monday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. both at the Church. Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
