Vernetta Williams

April 15, 1925 — July 26, 2012

Vernetta Williams, 87 of Rigby, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. She was born April 15, 1925 to Rulon and Lillie Cook at Idaho Falls, Idaho; the first child of five. She grew up on a farm in the Jameston area. She attended schools in the Shelley area, graduating from Shelley High School. She married Donald Williams on January 6, 1945; the marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 1, 1947. Throughout her marriage she farmed beside her husband for 17 years in the Osgood area, Salmon area and in Ennis, Montana. She worked as an accountant for a business in Ennis and drove school bus for the Ennis School System for over 20 years. Upon her retirement from the school system, she and Donald enjoyed their winters in Quartzsite, Arizona and their summers in Bozeman, Montana and Rigby until 2010. She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Cheryl) Williams, of Rigby, Dennis (Chris) Williams, of Great Falls, Montana, Craig (Sara) Williams of Rigby, Tom Williams, of Bloomington, Minnesota; daughter, Donetta (David) Bohrman, of Bozeman, Montana; brother, Noel (Kathy) Cook of Teton, Idaho, 8 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Rigby 15th Ward LDS Chapel, (602 Sundance, Rigby) with Bishop Marvin Fielding officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
