Vernon Albert Lofgran

Vernon Albert Lofgran, 85 of Rigby, passed away at the Good Samaritan Living Center in Idaho Falls on Saturday July 1, 2017. Vernon was born on April 10, 1932 in Santaquin, Utah to Albert John Lofgran and Annie May Clayson. He grew up and attended schools in Santaquin and graduated from Payson High School in 1950. Vernon married Lael Vaudis Clement on October 13, 1956 and was later solemnized in the Manti Temple in July of 1963. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and is a member of the V.F.W. He worked as an electrician at the INEL and enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping, and grandpa-ing. Vernon enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was active in the Scouting Program. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a Ward Clerk and in the High Priest Group. With his wife they served three consecutive service missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the Family History Center in Idaho Falls. He is survived by his wife Lael, sons; Michael (Christy) Lofgran of Salt Lake City, Utah, Allen (Jayna) Lofgran of Salt Lake City, Utah, daughters; Mary Ann (Ray) Henderson of Mesa, Arizona, Nancy (Jeff) Andersen of Rigby, Bonnie (Mark) Olson of Tucson, Arizona, and a brother, Gene (Pat) Lofgran of Payson, Utah as well as 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Annie May Lofgran, brothers; Lynn Lofgran, Wayne Lofgran, and 1 great grandchild, Keenan Andersen. Services will be held Thursday July, 6 2017, 11:00 am, at the Rigby 15th Ward building 602 Sundance Rigby ID, 83442. The family will visit with friends and family on Wednesday July 5, from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main St. Rigby ID, 83442 and prior to the service on Thursday from 9:30-10:45am. Burial will be at the Santaquin City Cemetery, Friday, July 7,2017 at 12 noon.
