In Loving Memory of Victor “Vic” Lawrence Christenson. Vic was born to Chester “Chet” and Edith Mae (Hodge) Christenson at the family home in Milan, Minnesota June 8, 1937. He was the oldest of 8 children. His siblings are Roberta and the late (Bob) Stapleton, Wayne Chris (deceased), Robert (deceased) wife Pat, Paul (Mary), Keith (deceased), Don (deceased), and Dean.
Vic and his siblings were raised by various family members in Appleton, Minnesota where they attended school together. He was looked after by his beloved Aunt Mable and Uncle Till Thompson on their farm where he quickly learned all about farming as well as becoming very handy with a wrench. He learned to be a very accomplished mechanic mostly by trial and error. After high school he moved out west to Idaho in 1956, where he worked his way round to earn his way, working for different farmers and ranchers. His amazing work ethic and mechanical abilities quickly spread and he had no problem finding work where ever he went. He moved around the southeast Idaho area and even went to Texas to work the oil fields, before coming back to Idaho where he married Linda Lee Moore on July 23, 1959 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They first made their home in Osgood, Idaho. In 1961 he was drafted in the army and served one year in Germany, before being honorably discharged. While still living in Osgood they had their first son Virgil Tillman born and died August 13, 1964. Later they welcomed their second son Mark Victor born May 26, 1966. Vic and Linda moved briefly to Shelley before making a home in Pingree, Idaho. Here they welcomed another son Jason Lawrence born July 28, 1970. As Linda’s health became critical they moved their family to Linda’s home town of Dubois in August of 1971 and purchased a home to be closer to family. Shortly thereafter their only daughter Vicki Lee was born October 11, 1971. Linda passed away November 25, 1981. After the death of his wife Linda. He met and married Joyce Ann Halford June 25, 1982 in Dubois. They later divorced. He then met Nancy Manning and they quickly became smitten with each other. They enjoyed many years of going to gun and craft shows where they also sold jewelry she hand made. They also enjoyed camping, family, and spending time together. She later passed away. It was well known if you needed anything fixed you called Vic. He was willing to give a helping hand to “fix” whatever needed to be fixed. But his true love was farming. We are certain there wasn’t a piece of farm ground he couldn’t grow a potato on. His knowledge and knowhow around a farm was well known. He could turn a dirt pile into a potato pile in no short order. In 1985 he went work for the Clark County Road and Bridge where his ability to run equipment as well as repair and weld gained him renowned respect by his co-workers and the residents of Clark County. He later became the foreman and retired in 2003. He enjoyed many more years as a resident of Dubois. Being named the Grand Marshall of the Dubois rodeo in 2014 alongside Marie Webster. He passed away October 24, 2020 after lingering health issues. He is survived by his brother Paul, sister Roberta, his 3 children, 4 (step) children he lovingly adopted into his heart, (Marjean, Jeri, Gary, Teresa). His grandchildren Linda (Steven) Little, Kristy (Erick) Harper, Jake Christenson, Amber (Jared) Wright, and Britney Christenson. His great-grandchildren Jaylynn Little, Kinsley Little, and Haelynn Wright.
