Viona Deon Larsen

Viona Deon Ballard Larsen, age 87, of Rigby, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at Rexburg Care and Rehabilitation Center in Rexburg. Deon was born May 21, 1928 in Chapin, Idaho a daughter to Linden Newton Ballard and Viona Bagley Ballard. She attended schools in Chapin and Driggs. She graduated from Driggs High School. She married Ross B Larsen September 14, 1948 at her parent’s ranch in Chapin, Idaho. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she taught primary and was a visiting teacher in Relief Society. She liked to quilt, embroidery, crochet, and put puzzles together. Deon is survived by her daughters: Annette Edwards of Boise, Idaho and Mary Larsen of Rigby, a grandson David (Nicole) Edwards of Aldie, Virginia, a granddaughter Crystal Edwards of Boise, three great-grandsons, a sister Clea Morgan of Victor, Idaho and two brothers; Gerald (Ardith) Ballard of Pocatello and John Newton Ballard of Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ross, a sister Darlene Wood and a son-in-law Alan Edwards Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the LaBelle 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 4223 East 528 North, Rigby. The family will visit with friends at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, on Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday at the LaBelle Church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
