Virginia Lydia Hardy

August 11, 1925 — December 30, 2010

Virginia Lydia Hardy, 85, of Menan, died Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. She was born August 11, 1925, in Lyman, Idaho to Samuel L. Butler and Lydia McIntier Butler. She was raised and attended school in Lyman, attended Lyman Union School, and graduated from Madison High School. On March 14, 1944, she married Ira A. Hardy, their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 2, 1966, and together they had four children. Virginia is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was a good homemaker, and raised some pretty darn good kids. She loved to quilt, do family history and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She is survived by a daughter, Nola Ree Hartgraves, of Ammon, sons, A. DeVon (Mickey) Hardy, of Sandpoint, Idaho, Stuart R. (Kathy) Hardy, Brent K. (Kelli) Hardy, both of Menan, 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2011 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
