Virginia Iona Holtry, 79, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at her home in Idaho Falls.
Virginia was born on September 15, 1926 in Reading, Ohio a daughter of K.D. Dykes and Georgia Mae Sexton Dykes. She was raised and attended school in Ohio and Barboursville, Kentucky graduating from Barboursville high school. Virginia married Cecil Holtry on September 8, 1972 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1995. She belonged to the Roberts Town and Country Garden Club were she was a District director and the President from 1995-1998. She was also a member of the Roberts Lions Club.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Annette Fore Vadnais of Dubois, Diane Fore Creps of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Bonnie Fore DeGraw of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Gladys Holtry of Blackfoot, Idaho. Five sons, Jerry Fore of Muskegan, Michigan, Denny Fore of Horton, Michigan, Michael Holtry of Idaho Falls, and Roger Holtry of Portland, Oregon, Tommy Fore of Texas. Two sisters Julia Dykes Cory of Reading, Ohio, Helen Fay Dykes Higginbotham of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and one brother David “Bud” Dykes of Peebles, Ohio. 22 grandchildren 6 great grandchildren 1 great-great grandchild
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil, daughter Delores Wertz, Sister Yvonne, and two brothers, Elvin and Dean.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2005 at the Market Lake Cemetery with Earnest Barnes conducting. The family will receive friends on Sunday night from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
