Virginia Hazel Taylor Poulsen of Lewsiville, Idaho, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend died today May 30, 2015, at the age of 93, at her Daughter’s home in Rigby, due to complications of age.
Virginia was born on March 11, 1922 in Ogden, Weber, Utah. She is a daughter of Hazel Randall Taylor and Wilford Joseph Taylor. She lived in the Ogden area until the age of 8. Her family then moved to Rigby, Idaho. Eventually she settled in Lewisville, Idaho with her parents. Virginia graduated as Class President from Midway High School. After high school Virginia trained to be a beautician.
Virginia met and married Frank Dee Poulsen, February 13, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 65 years. Frank and Virginia raised a wonderful family in Lewsiville, Idaho.
Virginia was a strong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked in many different positions such as: the Primary, Relief Society, Scouting for 25 years, and compassionate service for 11 years. She loved quilting, gardening, and cooking for her family. There was always room for one more at the table. She loved serving in the Temple (Baptistery). Virginia was a faithful temple attender.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, her son Eiler Dee, and one sister and two brothers.
Virginia is survived by her children: Dennis (Keila) Poulsen, Ammon; Darwin (Elaine) Poulsen, St. Cloud, MN; Karen (Randy) Madsen, Rigby; Blair (Christine) Poulsen, Teton City; Carl (Brenda) Poulsen, Rigby; Joy (David) Rucks, Idaho Falls; Roy (Annette) Poulsen, Ogden; Reed (Brenda) Poulsen, Kearney, NE. Virginia has 36 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren.
Virginia’s life was a life of service!!! She always said she would wear out before she would rust out.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 3rd 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lewisville LDS Church, with Bishop David Harper conducting. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday Evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lewisville Church and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
