Virginia C. Smith, 93 of Rigby, Idaho passed away Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born February 10th, 1931 in Rigby, Idaho, to Merzie and James Olson.

Virginia is survived by daughter Vicky Johnson (Dennis), daughter Debby Christensen, son Scott Johnson (Nancy), son Mark Johnson (Barbara), son Darrin Johnson, son Mel Smith, brother Kent Olson (Donalee), 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Lisa Marie Smith, son Terry Merle Johnson, two brothers, and four sisters.

We want to acknowledge the excellent care provided to our mother by Janel, Bethani and Ray from Aspen Home Health and Hospice; Kimberly from QualiCare Home Care; Christy from Pain and Spine Specialists of Idaho; and Lori a very special outside helper.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday June 11, 2024 at Eckersell Funeral Home located at 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, ID 83442.  The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 11:30am until 12:45pm.

(Note: Internment will be a private service at a later date at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.)

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations on Virginia’s behalf to the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission Women and Children Shelter (Haven), in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
