Vivian Marie Griffith, 85, of Rigby, Idaho died Friday, May 7, 2004 in Rexburg, Idaho at the Rexburg Nursing Center.
Vivian was born November 20, 1918 at Pontiac, Michigan the daughter of John Foster and Ethel Lumm Foster. She married Lloyd James Griffith in Yuma, Arizona on June 18, 1935. He preceded her in death in 2001.
She was a member of the Rigby Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary. She and her husband moved from California to Rigby, Idaho in 1972 to be with family. She owned and operated the Promenade Shop in San Leandro, California for many years, sewing and providing square dance clothing. She later opened the Vee Gee Square Dance Clothing Pattern Company, closing the Promenade Shop. Vivian sold only the dresses that she had designed. The Vee Gee Square Dance Clothing Pattern Company became known to square dancers around the world. She sold the business in 1980 and retired.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd James, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Rod Furniss conducting. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow the service at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
