Vonda Mae Brunt

Vonda Mae Brunt, age 81, of Idaho Falls, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Vonda was born February 4, 1930 at Idaho Falls a daughter to Bert Strong and Reba Pope Strong. She attended schools in Idaho Falls, and in Rigby graduating from Rigby High School in 1948. She then attended L.D.S. Nursing School graduating in 1951. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Idaho Falls for many years. She married Don Stephen Brunt August 27th 1954 in Idaho Falls in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church and was 11th ward Relief Society President twice. She enjoyed music and sang with the Rigby Chansonettes for over 30 years and was a member of the Idaho Falls Music Club. She loved people and special places. She made visits to Hawaii 19 times as a tour escort. Vonda is survived by her husband Don Stephen Brunt of Idaho Falls, two daughters Kalli Jo (Charles) Paxton of West Valley, Utah, Jana Lee (Allan) Pyle of Phoenix, Arizona, two sons B. Michael (Christy) Brunt of Idaho Falls, and Christopher Joseph Brunt of Idaho Falls, a brother Brent (Kelly) Strong of Sugar City, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Reba Strong and a brother William Bennett Strong. Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 30th 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Idaho Falls 11th ward LDS Chapel, on the corner of 12th street and Juniper Avenue, with Bishop Sheldon Dance officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the 11th Ward Church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
