Vonda Fisher Poole

Vonda F. Poole, 80, of Rigby, died Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Vonda was born February 11, 1925, in Idaho Falls, Idaho daughter of William Merriott Fisher and Nina Grace Jensen Fisher. She was raised and attended school in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. She graduated from BrighamYoungUniversity majoring in Clothing and Textiles. Vonda taught home economics at Rigby High School for two years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary. Vonda married Eldon W Poole on January 31, 1947 in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. She was an accomplished seamstress and homemaker, loving embroidery work, reading and traveling with her husband. Survivors include five daughters, Ronda Kay Harston of Rigby, Debra (John) Dester of Provo, Utah, Cathy (Roger) McMurtrey of Idaho Falls, Karyn (James) Beesley of Rigby, and Anne-Elizabeth Meikle of Idaho Falls, three sons, Ryan E (Sharron) Poole of Rigby, Reid W (Corinne) Poole of Orem, Utah and Bryce L (Rosa) Poole of Orem, Utah. One sister Gwen (A. Allen) Giles of Salt Lake City, Utah. 28 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren Vonda was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Eldon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the Rigby Stake Center (258 W. 1st N.) with Bishop Brad Anderson officiating. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main, Rigby) and prior to the services at the stake center from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow the services at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
