Vonda Florence Tinker, age 83, died at her home in Menan, Sunday, November 25, 2007.
Vonda was born May 29, 1924 in Garfield, Idaho the daughter of James Milo Andrus and Florence Crystal Andrus.
She grew up and attended schools in Garfield, and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Ernest George Tinker October 27, 1940; this marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, December 7, 1963. Vonda had worked for Idaho Fresh Pak in Lewisville and for Taylor Produce in Rigby, and was one of the first Avon Cosmetic Reps in the area. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid seamstress. She loved to camp and fish with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Maxine (Fred) Schmierer of Elk, Washington, and Charlene (Rick) Thomas of Menan, Idaho; and one son Rex E. (Etta May) Tinker of Lewisville, Idaho. She is survived by two sisters, Rayola Miller of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Iva (Bill) Pennington of Nampa, Idaho; and one brother Roy (Estelene) Andrus of Grant, Idaho. Survived by 9 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Menan 2nd. Ward LDS Chapel, with Bp. Eric Beck officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and Friday for one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
