Walter Lamar Bybee

January 27, 1921 — February 11, 2005

Walter LaMar Bybee passed away in Payson, Utah on February 11, 2005 after suffering multiple injuries from a fall. He was born January 27, 1921 in Lyman, Idaho to Walter Ray Bybee and Margaret Palmer. He married Rachel Zella Sutton on October 5, 1941. Walter served in the military from 1941 to 1945. During his tenure in service, he completed Officers’ Training School and served in the infantry as First Lieutenant on the front lines through the last six months of World War II in Europe. Walter retired from government service after working many years at the National Reactor Testing Station near Arco, Idaho. He was a long-term, successful farmer in Sunnydell. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as being active in his community. Walter is survived by his sister Sharon of Las Vegas, Nevada; children: Clyde (Charlotte) of Evanston, Wyoming; Blair of Salt Lake City, Utah; Karen (Tom) of Mona, Utah; Kyle (Joan) of Sunnydell; Greg of Sunnydell; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Zella: parents, Ray and Margaret; brother Garth; and sister’s Dora Lee and Elaine. Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 15, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at the Sunnydell Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call Monday evening February 14, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the Sunnydell Ward. Interment will be at the Sutton Cemetery in Archer, Idaho.
